POSITION OVERVIEW

The Registered Nurse assesses the health needs of the adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with knowledge and skill, and develops and implements plans to meet these needs. The RN also evaluates outcomes as they reflect the established goals. Also assesses additional role of leader educator and consultant, and coordinates daily patient care as provided by all departments. Some of the major job functions include but are not limited to:

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care for groups of patients of varying ages

Participates in educational activities for self, staff and unit development

Utilizes communication skills with staff, other health care team members and patients

Maintains yearly CPR certification, safety and infection in-services, plus adequate contact hours to meet RN requirements

Follows safety and infection control policies and procedures

Follows hospital and department policies and procedures

Other job duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Completion of a nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing

Experience:

2 years experience in acute care setting preferred

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

Ability to perform basic nursing skills on groups of patients and ability to assume charge responsibility

Ability to work on another unit at the Med Surg level of acuity

Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly

Ability to administer medication utilizing the five rights

Ability to communicate verbally and in written form

Basic computer knowledge

Credentials:

Registered Nurse with a current licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Certified in Healthcare Provider BLSEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
