The Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative support to the Nurse Manager/Director with primary duties for emergency and ambulance services.
The Administrative Assistant will need to be organized, have the ability to multi-task and be proficient in controlling an office atmosphere.
Will need the ability to effectively interact with others, and to display effective listening skills.
They should also be proficient in using a variety of office technologies, such as fax machines, copiers, phone system and computer.
Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision, and perform administrative duties requiring initiative, independence and confidentiality.

Perform general administrative duties to include but not limited to, photo copying, faxing, mailing, filing, and use of Microsoft Office products.

Liaison for vendors
Equipment, stock, and office supply inventory
Scheduling, as needed
Maintain confidential files
Setup and coordinate meetings
Maintain calendar for Nurse Manager/Director
Schedule evaluations, interviews, and all other appointments as needed.

Perform difficult, complex and detailed clerical and administrative work with accuracy and speed; communicate effectively in English; follow and give oral and written directions.

Take and transcribe minutes/memos with speed and accuracy
Able to effectively communicate with others and display effective listening skills.

The Administrative Assistant for the emergency and ambulance services will also cross train as an Ambulance Attendant to be able to perform and or assist in transporting of patients of all ages from UVA UVA Hospital to other health care facilities, nursing care facilities or residence with qualified personnel as mandated by the patient's condition.
They will be helping hands in the emergency department as needed based on scope and competencies.

The Administrative Assistant will also help with scheduling and getting authorization for ambulance transports.

Qualifications
Education:

High School Diploma or GED
Some college preferred+

Experience:

At least 2 years of increasingly responsible office administration, specialized administrative support or secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

EMT - 1 year of current documented field experience or one year current healthcare experience.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)
Must produce acceptable DMV driving record
Certification as EMT-B in the State of Virginia
Current BLS through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Additional Skills/Requirements required:

Demonstrates ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations
Ability to Multitask and prioritize quickly
Must have good judgement
Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
Must be able to interact effectively with the public
Advanced computer knowledge with demonstrated administrative skills
Basic patient assessment skills including primary survey
Basic knowledge of primary interventions
High level of compassion, desire to help others, and self-confidence.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
